Quick answer

To get swords in Blade Ball, open a Sword Skins Crate in the lobby (Normal crate: 80 coins, Premium crate: 60 Robux), use free wheel spins from codes, redeem 4BVISITS for the free Bubble Wand, or buy the exact sword you want from another player in the Trade Plaza with Trade Tokens.

Swords in Blade Ball are skins. They change how your blade looks and the slash effect you see, but they don’t change your timing or make you block better. That is why players chase them for looks and trade value, not for wins.

This guide covers every way to get a sword, what each crate costs and its odds, how the Trade Plaza works, and how to stay safe when you trade.

How we checked

How we checked this guide

Crate prices and odds, trading rules and the Trade Plaza steps come from the Blade Ball Wiki pages for Crates and Trading, checked on November 3, 2026. Controls come from the official Blade Ball game page on Roblox.

Prices and odds can change with updates, and I recheck them after each one.

Top pick

Start with the free options. Redeem 4BVISITS for the Bubble Wand and use your code spins. If you then want a specific sword, buying it in the Trade Plaza is cheaper than opening crates and hoping for a 1% drop.

Example swords by rarity

  • Common: Baseball Bat, Kitchen Knife, Pickaxe, Rapier, Tanto, Wooden Hammer.
  • Rare: DJ’s Sword of Agility, Red Saber, Spark Sword, Frying Pan.

04

What are swords, explosions and finishers?

  • Sword skins change your blade’s look. They are cosmetic only.
  • Explosion skins are cosmetic effects that come from Explosion Skins Crates.
  • Finishers are special elimination effects. The VIP game pass includes the Whitehole finisher.
  • Emotes are animations you play with the R key on PC, L1 on controller or the emote button on mobile.
05

How to open crates and equip swords

  1. Go to the main Blade Ball lobby.
  2. Walk to the crates and pick a Sword Skins Crate or an Explosion Skins Crate.
  3. Choose Normal (coins) or Premium (Robux) and open it.
  4. Open your inventory and equip the new sword.

The Instant Spin game pass (70 Robux) skips the crate animation.

06

Requirements

  • 80 coins for a Normal crate, or Robux for a Premium crate.
  • At least 1 win to use the Trade Plaza.
  • A trading PIN. Save all 8 words of your recovery phrase, since the game can’t reset a forgotten PIN for you.
  • In some countries, including Belgium, the Netherlands, Australia, the United Kingdom and Brazil, crates are banned or limited by law. Players there can get Premium crates from playtime rewards, battle passes and spins instead.
07

Is trading for swords safe?

Trading inside the Trade Plaza is safe if you follow the game’s rules. Watch out for these:

  • Cross-trading (swapping Blade Ball items for items or money in another game) is against Roblox rules. The game has a zero-tolerance policy and can permanently ban you.
  • Trust trades, fake giveaways and fake staff messages are the most common scams.
  • If you get scammed or hacked, the game won’t return your items. You can only report the scammer with proof.
  • Never share your password, PIN or recovery phrase.

Update status

Checked November 3, 2026. Crate prices and odds match the Blade Ball Wiki. Crates were reworked around 2024, which changed where they are and what they contain. Limited swords rotate with each event pass, so check the lobby during events.
